Field Visit to Urwah bin Al-Zubair Palace
As part of connecting theory with practice, Interior Design students from the College of Engineering at Prince Mugrin University conducted a field visit to Urwah bin Al-Zubair Palace in Madinah. The visit aimed to explore early Islamic architecture and analyze architectural elements, materials, and historical construction techniques, strengthening students’ understanding of Saudi architectural heritage.

AI Students' Achievements
Students achieved outstanding accomplishments locally and internationally, including winning Best Graduation Project at a regional forum organized by MCIT, advanced positions in the Dates Hackathon and NTIRE24, supporting graduation projects and research grants, winning first place in RoboFest, and publishing five scientific papers in prestigious conferences.

International Partnerships & Collaboration
Visiting the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) to initiate a memorandum of understanding and launching joint research projects between the university and DFKI to strengthen academic collaboration and exchange expertise.

Launch of MadinahGPT
Launching the MadinahGPT website (Smart Tourism Guide) as an AI-powered digital guide to explore Madinah’s historical landmarks, offering trusted multilingual content while respecting cultural privacy. The project also received collaboration offers from two companies to further develop it.

AI Talks & Awareness Workshops
Dr. Ahmed Al-Hayek delivered a talk titled “The Role of AI in the Fourth Industrial Revolution” under MCIT sponsorship, and a workshop “Visitors Serving in AI Harnessing” at Umrah & Visit Forum 2025, in addition to two lectures by invitation from Aramco for executive leadership on the latest AI technologies.
