General Admission Criteria:
The admission of new students at the University of Prince Mugrin requires the following:
Having a high school certificate or its equivalent from within the Kingdom or abroad.
Having good morals and conduct.
Not being dismissed from any other university for disciplinary reasons.
Successfully passing tests, personal interviews or any other conditions specified by the University and announced at the time of application.
The distribution of students to academic programs is based on the program’s capacity and the student selected choice.
If the student has to go through the prep year, they are required to complete the specific requirements of the major and would be admitted in the program of their choice if the program capacity allows at that time.

Students who have excelled in their academic achievement and proved their proficiency in English by passing the preparatory program courses can join the academic programs directly based on the following criteria:
Saudi High School Certificates System:
Scientific stream: 80% and above.
Literature stream: 80% and above.
British Diploma IGCSE:
Must satisfy one of the conditions below:
Eight courses O level grade C and above.
5 courses O level grade C and above in addition to two courses AS with a score not less than D.
Five courses O level grade C and Above and one course A level with grade D.
American Diploma:
Students must have the American Diploma with a minimum average of 80%.
IELTS or equivalent:Score 5.5 in IELTS for all academic programs, except International Hospitality Management 6.0.
TOEFL: IBT 35-45 for all programs, 60 IBT for International Hospitality Management, Paper-based 500 for all programs, Paper-based 550 for International Hospitality Management.
UPM Placement Test: (Oxford Online Placement Test) 71.
UPM Math and Computer placement tests: 70% and above.
For all of the above applicants:
Applicants should not have been dismissed from UPM or from any other university for disciplinary reasons. If it appears at any time after admission has been granted that the student had previously been dismissed for disciplinary reasons from a previous university or institution, the admission shall be considered void. If students do not satisfy the above criteria, they are encouraged to enroll in the Preparatory Year Program.
The Regulatory Conditions for Accepting Foreign Certificates
American diplomas from international schools are required to be certified by the Ministry of Education.
Secondary school certificates (the Saudi system) from outside the Kingdom are required to be attested by the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau in the country of origin.
If the secondary certificates are of another type - other than what is mentioned above - then the applicant must contact the Admissions Department at the University to find out the required admission criteria according to the secondary certificate obtained.
